As a kid it was very fascinating to know that some foreign music band was coming to my city (Bangalore, India) to perform. Not knowing which band it was and what type of music they made yet there was an excitement to attend their gig.
During my school days it was actually a very great thing to know that a music band was coming to our city to perform. There was a lot of excitement because we had to plan things. We would request our parents to give us money so that we could buy the tickets; we had to decide what type of dress to wear so that we could gel with the entire crowd, what time to leave so that we would not be late and so on. Even I was very excited every time I heard that so and so band will be coming to perform. Years followed by and many bands including some of the really big ones came to India to perform in Bangalore along with a few other places like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, etc. Some of these bands were Metallica, Iron Maiden, Korn and there were even many solo artists.
Towards the end of the first decade of the 21st century something happened to the music scene in India. We started seeing so many new local bands coming up. Youtube was getting flooded with so many videos of random people playing the musical instruments with one of them singing. Some of these people became very popular; they signed up contracts, made some good music and happily minted money. Night clubs were completely packed with music fans holding a glass of beer especially on the weekends. This sudden explosion of musicians in the country was something really amazing but what was even more amazing was that people not just in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune or Bangalore started forming bands and entertaining people but from every part of the country bands were coming up and they even sang in their local languages.
So this was the scene in India for a couple of years towards the end of the first decade of the 21st century. Then suddenly something new happened, we started witnessing the spread of a different kind of music. People were being entertained by the mixing of music (something unusual but it hits you in the best way possible) at various local clubs. DJs' started getting more attention and their music seemed very addictive even though at first it may seem very weird but you'll get used to it. All you have to do is go there and move according to the music and you will surely have fun.
Fun! Isn't that what you want ultimately? I guess mixing of music will never go out of fashion because as long as people are being entertained to the fullest there is no stopping. But again music is something which keeps evolving so we may never know. Till then let's just keep getting entertained by their music..
This is what the music scene is like, it will keep evolving. Some music genre will fade away but they will come back again in course of time to entertain you.
