What's The Music Scene

As a kid it was very fascinating to know that some foreign music band was coming to my city (Bangalore, India) to perform. Not knowing which band it was and what type of music they made yet there was an excitement to attend their gig.

During my school days it was actually a very great thing to know that a music band was coming to our city to perform. There was a lot of excitement because we had to plan things. We would request our parents to give us money so that we could buy the tickets; we had to decide what type of dress to wear so that we could gel with the entire crowd, what time to leave so that we would not be late and so on. Even I was very excited every time I heard that so and so band will be coming to perform. Years followed by and many bands including some of the really big ones came to India to perform in Bangalore along with a few other places like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, etc. Some of these bands were Metallica, Iron Maiden, Korn and there were even many solo artists.

Towards the end of the first decade of the 21st century something happened to the music scene in India. We started seeing so many new local bands coming up. Youtube was getting flooded with so many videos of random people playing the musical instruments with one of them singing. Some of these people became very popular; they signed up contracts, made some good music and happily minted money. Night clubs were completely packed with music fans holding a glass of beer especially on the weekends. This sudden explosion of musicians in the country was something really amazing but what was even more amazing was that people not just in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune or Bangalore started forming bands and entertaining people but from every part of the country bands were coming up and they even sang in their local languages.

So this was the scene in India for a couple of years towards the end of the first decade of the 21st century. Then suddenly something new happened, we started witnessing the spread of a different kind of music. People were being entertained by the mixing of music (something unusual but it hits you in the best way possible) at various local clubs. DJs' started getting more attention and their music seemed very addictive even though at first it may seem very weird but you'll get used to it. All you have to do is go there and move according to the music and you will surely have fun.

Fun! Isn't that what you want ultimately? I guess mixing of music will never go out of fashion because as long as people are being entertained to the fullest there is no stopping. But again music is something which keeps evolving so we may never know. Till then let's just keep getting entertained by their music..

This is what the music scene is like, it will keep evolving. Some music genre will fade away but they will come back again in course of time to entertain you.

The beauty of architecture.

Style always fades away doesn't it?

I don't think I would be wrong to say that we live in an era when the style of everything keeps changing constantly. Talk about fashion, technology or what ever you want, something new keeps happening when we talk about STYLE and when it comes to architecture, it definitely tops the list.

We see so many styles of architecture and there is someone constantly trying to come up with a new ICONIC style and when it comes out we go crazy about it or at least some of us because it is NEW and something DIFFERENT. All our attention is caught by the new style and we try to use it in our designs and after a while when something new comes out, the whole cycle repeats again. It is good that we get so inspired by the new styles of architecture but so many of us get carried away with the new style blindly.

Architects keep moving ahead in their lives as ARTISTS and DESIGNERS, advancing in their styles but sometimes we should all move a step back and look at the old styles which were the REAL INSPIRATIONS for the new ones. They always look good when you turn back and look at them.

Architecture, My Decision and My Future

As a kid I always thought that architects only design houses but that changed in time and I learnt more about them and architecture. It is like the universe and just when you thought you’ve reached the edge of it you realize that there are still lots to explore.
Designing a house is one thing but making it into a HOME is what an architect REALLY DOES. It does not matter what an architect designs but whatever they do is with a great passion. It is really a great thing when you put your own touch to certain things which is what an architect does to all their works. How would you feel when you design something for a person all by yourself, giving it your personal touch and being the boss of yourself? That feeling is just amazing. Shaping up lives by making a HOME is a great thing which brings immense happiness to the architect and by knowing all this who would not want to be an architect.
Convincing parents was not so easy of course but ultimately they agreed because they knew that my heart was already at it. When we talk about the future, everybody wishes for the best in their future but you never know what’s in store. I hope for the best too as an architect but I really don’t know what my future is going to be like. But I can definitely say that with the interest, confidence and determination to my work there’s no stopping me from excelling at something which I like so much and that I enjoy doing.

Ulta (Reverse) Back Seat

Childhood habit, it was so much fun :)

Turning back and remembering our childhood brings back so many memories. As kids we would have done so many funny and very innocent things just to feel happy such as jumping in a puddle of water, climbing up tree branches and hanging upside down and so on. Some of us would have had this habit of sitting ulta on the back seat. I hope you remember :)

That feeling of sitting ulta on the back seat of a two wheeler was just awesome :) How innocently we would sit the over way on the back seat and look at the other people on their bikes or in their cars, giving them that very innocent kiddish look and sometimes getting back smiles from the passers by. And when some turn would be taken it would feel like we were going to fall any second with that funny feeling in our stomach :p Looking at kids do certain things which reminds us of our childhood makes us feel like doing them all over again, and if it makes us feel like doing all those things again then may be we should do some of those things just to make ourselves feel happy and relive our childhood.

There's a small child hidden in all of us and may be sometimes that child can be brought out :)

The Nice Apartment Next To The Nice Road

Sometimes its too hard to miss somethings. Similarly is this building which was under construction when this picture was clicked. Was on the Nice highway (Bangalore, India), a beautiful stretch of road with beautiful sights on either sides. About two kilometers after hitting the highway your attention has to be caught by this out of nowhere building, beautifully situated apartment just beside the highway with greenery all around.

Was inside a car when we approached this building and a picture of this was definitely not decided. So the burst mode was switched on and thankfully I got this perfect shot while the car was still moving. At first the unfocused truck in this picture seemed like an unwanted element, but after the post process the truck did seem to merge well with all the other elements which I guess is mainly due to the focus contrast.

This has definitely been one of my best clicks, I hope you like it too :)

Like A Parasite On It's Host

Every time I look at this picture all I can think of is about the dependence of humans on each other. Like how the climbers around the big tree take its support to grown upon, similarly even we take the support of each other around us to move ahead in life in so many ways.

We are just like a parasite on it's host. Don't you think so?..

Beautifully Ignored

Hard work always pays off, isn't it?.. Ever wondered how much hard work goes into making the temple's GOPURAM(tall tapering structure)? And yet everyday when we pass by a temple we never bother to turn our heads just to look at the beautifully crafted structure even for a few seconds.

While I was in Pondicherry there was this temple visible from the lodge I was staying in. It simply caught my attention, so I clicked a picture of the top of the Gopuram of the temple. This definitely was the most attractive part of the entire temple and also the only visible part. Ignoring the fact that this picture is in B/W, the details on it were so beautifully done and almost precise.

A brilliant piece of art which is very common but still very uncommon.
